Blue Bell Ice Cream Licker Sentenced to Jail

A Texas man who posted a video showing himself licking Blue Bell ice cream and putting it back into a Walmart freezer has been sentenced to jail. Appearing in court on Wednesday, 24-year-old D’Adrien Anderson was given a seven-month sentence, but six months of it was probated — meaning he’ll serve only one month behind bars. He was also ordered to pay a $1,000 fine and $1,565 in restitution to Blue Bell Creameries, court records indicate. He was taken to jail immediately after the hearing. Anderson received the sentence in spite of the fact that after making the video, he retrieved the ice cream from the store’s freezer and paid for it. Was his sentence appropriate?
