Boxes and Blocks A new report says kids need more old-school hands-on toys instead of high-tech gadgets. Pediatricians suggest that toys for kids 5 years old and under should be things like blocks, puzzles, card games, coloring books, balls, and even cardboard boxes. The goal is to give the child something that sparks their creativity and imagination. Simple toys that parents and kids can play with together are better for the child’s health. Too many high-tech toys like tablets and video games could interfere with a child’s speech development. Do you give your kids a balance of old-fashion and high-tech toys?
